Discover the story behind why we started The Pino Collection

The Pino Collection started as a passion project between my sister and me. As migrants now living in Adelaide, we quickly realised that Filipino culture and heritage aren’t as visible here compared to other cultures.

Think about it—Vietnamese and Indian food are easily available as takeout, Thai massages are just around the corner, and Korean and Chinese products are everywhere in supermarkets and malls. But finding Filipino culture in everyday life? That’s a bit more challenging.

Meanwhile, back home in the Philippines, there’s a growing movement to support locally made products that are not only high quality but also stylish and deeply rooted in Filipino craftsmanship. From clothing and fine dining to coffee, furniture, and accessories, you’ll find intricate Filipino artistry woven into every detail.

So, we thought—why not bring a piece of that craftsmanship to the land we now call home? And that’s how The Pino Collection was born.

What’s in a name? "Pino" is short for "Filipino," but in Tagalog, it also means fine, refined, and polished—perfectly capturing the heart of our brand.

Our mission: We aim to be a social enterprise that empowers Filipino artisan communities, helping them create sustainable livelihoods while sharing their craft with a global audience.

Meet Our Artisan Partners:

Inabel Weavers of La Union (Northern Luzon) -  These skilled women use centuries-old wooden handlooms to craft intricate blankets, towels, and ponchos, preserving a rich weaving tradition.

Abaca Handbag Makers of Sorsogon (Southeastern Luzon) - Abaca, a plant native to the Philippines and part of the banana family, is transformed into durable and stylish handbags.

Rattan & Pandan Weavers of Cebu & the Visayas - Our artisans craft solihiya bags, inspired by the classic woven pattern found in Filipino furniture—now making waves in international luxury fashion.

Coco Coir Artisans of Bulacan (Central Luzon)

Using coconut fiber, they create handcrafted animal planters that double as quirky wine bottle holders.

Looking Ahead Our vision is to grow, supporting more artisan communities across the Philippines while bringing unique, handcrafted pieces to Australia and beyond.

At The Pino Collection, we believe in craftsmanship over mass production. Each item you own from us is exclusive, culturally rich, and one-of-a-kind—just like you.

Celebrate Culture & Craftsmanship with The Pino Collection.
